VRM Foundation is the pioneering international conservation agency committed to landscape conservation, conservation of endangered species and protection of the health of ecosystem in adopted states of India. VRM Foundation, established in 2006 is a registered tax exempt not for profit company limited by Guarantee under Section 25 of the Companies Act, 1956, Government of India. VRM Foundation has been registered under 12 A and 80G of Income Tax Act, Government of India. Donors are entitled to income tax rebate claim under above registration.
The Registration number of the company is U8531 OCT2007NPL020176 of 2006-2007 Government of India. Ministry of Law, Justice and Company Affairs has issued licence No RD/8925 (1)/01/06 on 27th October 2006 and authorised VRM Foundation to translate its visions into action in different states across India and foreign countries. VRM Foundation, the only pioneering and leading action research international agency of Chhattisgarh, is dedicated to promotion and supporting the regional, national and international strategies to conserve biodiversity through public and private partnership approach.
The team of conservationists working with VRM Foundation believe that community based forest enterprise development is key to biodiversity conservation and future prosperity of forest dwellers in India. All interventions are well designed not only to unfold the opportunities for local communities in exploring micro scale community based conservation enterprise but also to provide them incentives to improve their livelihood and protect wildlife and habitats. The innovative action research initiatives undertaken by these scientists are directed to link forest based enterprise to conservation efforts in the situation where the communities are restricted to explore forest resources commercially. The focused activities revolve around protection of endangered species and their habitats apart from conservation of biodiversity. We attach profound honour to collaborative initiatives with international agencies and scientists working on conservation by deriving insights from their promising practices of conservation.
The team of scientists, conservationists and environmentalists working with VRM Foundation are dedicated to exploring sustainable use and community based conservation efforts for protection of diminishing flora and fauna, habitat and indigenous culture of forest dwelling communities in India. Greater focus is given on blending of scientific expertise with local values, guidelines and knowledge in proposed conservation efforts of VRM Foundation. Chhattisgarh and Orissa have been adopted as experimental states at initial phase of interventions.
